The portal is a resource for various industrial fields professionals united by their professional activity.  The portal gives much useful information in a well-structured way. The website allows holding internet-conferences and also gives an opportunity for providers to place services and goods by categories.

Business objectives:

The objective of the project was to create a system for professionals in certain industrial spheres allowing communicating for achieving one of the global objectives – forming a system approach to using information-communicational technologies in the industry and improving interaction between the science and production (The Project has been approved by Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation). Having achieved that the customer company will also accomplish its main objective – gaining the leadership in the market of providing information services for the specialists in the leading sectors of the Russian industry.

The concept of the website solution for business objectives achievement:

At the moment the project is designed mainly for specialists of the following industries: energy, oil-gas, coal, metallurgic, transport. The project consists of two large parts: the portal and Automated Workstation. The main page of the portal presents the news: partner-companies’ news, analytical news, scientific news. RSS subscription can be done to the company news.     

The portal gives the access to the information database where all the documents are stored divided into categories. Here one can also find almost all the necessary information by all the above mentioned fields: starting from regulatory documents through to scientific publications. The database is constantly updating.

The portal allows the providers to place goods and services on it. All the services and goods are divided into categories. The provider has an opportunity to place blocks advertising his products and services having primarily paid for the time of advertising. The portal also provides an opportunity of prolonging advertising time. The user can view goods catalogue divided into categories. There is information about each product: its title, description, price, image, producing company. Here one can also ask a question on the item of goods he/she is interested in following Ask a Question link and filling in the form. If a particular producer’s product is necessary, then going to the catalogue of producers, one can look through the whole list of the goods produced by this provider and also contact details of the enterprise.

The portal provides an opportunity of organizing and holding the Internet conferences. Users are provided with information about future conferences as follows: subject, time period, a guest of the conference. The portal has an option of attaching audio, video files. Only registered users can take part in discussions. The Internet conferences are divided into professional and professional industrial. In professional conferences section one can discuss general professional issues, and in industrial professional section professional issues can be discussed depending on the industry the specialist is involved in. The portal holds industrial experts’ competitions among registered users. Results are calculated as a team and individually. According to the results the winners are awarded with certificates and valuable prizes. Introduction of competition functional was aimed at several things, such as: improving specialists’ qualification, discovery and support of most qualified participants, establishing good communication between specialists. In media-hall section there are video-materials of various themes: starting from exhibitions, conferences, and educational films through to experiments and humour.          

Apart from the above mentioned functions, automated workstation provides the access to participation in internet conferences, competitions, polls and communication in forum. Besides, each user of the automated workstation has a Professional Page, Industrial Page, and Professional-Industrial Page. Their contents depend on the industry and professional area that a user specified at registration.

If the user could not find the necessary document of the information database, he/she can send a request (Documentation Search Request) and the experts will add the document to the database in the shortest possible time, if there is such an opportunity.
Colleagues section provides the access to the list of registered users of the system. Users can be sorted by a particular city or company.
